Rubber-Coated Rollers

Engineering-led roller recovering for controlled grip, protection, and repeatable performance.

At Reliant Rubber Engineers, we strip and recover rubber-coated rollers, drums, and cylinders, then precision finish the surface to restore predictable performance. This is delivered by engineers, focused on tolerance, alignment, surface profile, and service life, not “clean-up” or generic coating. Based in West Yorkshire, supporting manufacturers across Yorkshire and the UK with fast turnaround and specification-led rubber covering.

What We Do

1. Recover existing rollers/drums (strip & re-cover)

Remove the failed elastomer, prepare the core, bond a new covering, and finish to spec.

2. Regrind and reprofile existing coverings

Where remaining material is viable, we regrind to restore uniformity, runout control, and surface quality.

3. Manufacture / rework associated components

Where required, we support journal-end repair, bearing-related work, and engineering interventions that affect roller performance and longevity.

Output: a roller that performs predictably on the line, not just on a bench.

What We Recover

We bond rubber to a wide range of metal substrates including steel, aluminium and specialist alloys, engineered for applications where strength, grip, impact resistance and shock absorption are critical.

Our Recovering Process

1. Assessment & specification check

We confirm: application, environment, surface requirement, hardness targets and any known failure mode.

2. Strip and prepare the core

Old covering removed; core condition checked; surface prepared for robust bonding.

3. Recover / apply new elastomer

Rubber covering applied to suit traction, wear, chemical exposure, temperature, and marking constraints.

4. Precision finishing

Where required we can finish to functional surface patterns (e.g., grooves) suitable for the application.

5. Quality and release

Final checks for geometry, uniformity, and practical fitness for service so you can reinstall with confidence.
