Our Story

1986 - Yorkshire engineering, built on precision and reliability

Founded in 1986, Reliant Rubber Engineers began as a small British workshop specialising in the repair and refurbishment of rubber-coated rollers and drums for industrial, printing, and food manufacturing environments.

From the outset, our focus was clear: deliver precise, dependable rubber components that perform consistently under real production conditions. This engineering-first approach quickly established Reliant as a trusted partner for customers who relied on rollers and drums to drive, guide, convey, and control critical processes across the UK.

2005 - Growing beyond refurbishment engineering performance into rubber

As customer requirements became more demanding, our capabilities evolved in step.

Driven by continuous improvement rather than volume-driven expansion in 2005 we broadened our expertise into the manufacture, re-rubbering, and refurbishment of rubber wheels, rollers, and drums, alongside custom-engineered rubber components produced using advanced polymers and specialist materials.

Over time, our work extended into custom rubber mouldings, seals and gaskets, heritage steam traction engine wheel restoration, foam, cork, PVC sheeting, and specialist materials always guided by the same principle: engineer the rubber to suit the application, not the other way around.

2026 - Engineering-led solutions for industry today

Today, Reliant Rubber Engineers operates as a precision engineering partner, supporting manufacturing, construction, utilities, transport, facilities management, and heritage sectors across Yorkshire and beyond.

Our core strength lies in the design, manufacture, refurbishment, and preparation of rubber wheels, rollers, and drums. These core services are supported by complementary capabilities including industrial laser cleaning, rubber mouldings, seals and gaskets, and bulk flooring and matting supply.

As surface condition has become increasingly critical to performance, longevity, and bonding quality, we invested in laser cleaning to strengthen our rubber engineering processes. Laser cleaning enables the precise removal of rust, coatings, oils, and contaminants from rollers, drums, hubs, shafts, and metal substrates without abrasion or dimensional change.
